Zoe Ann Humphrey

Zoe Ann Humphrey, 90, of Rushville, passed away at 1:35 pm on Friday, May 12, 2023, with her family by her side at her home.

She was born on June 22, 1932, in Rushville, the daughter of the late Peter & Emma (Bradman) Phillips. She married John Humphrey on November 20, 1950, in Springfield and he preceded her in death on April 25, 2012.

Zoe Ann worked alongside her husband John, owning and operating their service station & tire business for many years until his retirement. She was a dedicated member of the First Christian Church of Rushville where she assisted with the preparation of many church dinners and funeral luncheons.  For many years she enjoyed teaching Sunday school.  Zoe Ann was very involved in the Girl Scouts of America and served as a leader for many years. She loved to tend to her yard and liked the outdoors. When she and John built their home, she was responsible for the naming of the street they lived on; Robinwood Drive. Most importantly, Zoe Ann loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.

Zoe Ann is survived by three daughters; Carol (John) Frampton of Prosperity, South Carolina, Kay (Dean) Heitz of Rushville and Joanie (Jerry) Wilson of Modesto, six grandchildren; Emma, Zoe, Joan Kaye, C.J., Jerrod & Jesse, eight great grandchildren, two sisters; Neda Colston of Rushville & Berneice Parr of Bradley, and by several nieces & nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Zoe Ann was preceded in death by three brothers, Arthur, Medford & Burton Phillips.

Funeral services honoring Zoe Ann’s life will be conducted at 11:00 am on Monday, May 22, 2023, at the First Christian Church of Rushville. Pastor Bill Rucker will officiate. Interment will follow at the Rushville City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of services at the church. The Triplett & Wood Funeral Home of Rushville has been entrusted with the care and arrangements. Memorial contributions in memory of Zoe Ann are suggested to the First Christian Church of Rushville.
