Wilfred Ihnen

GOLDEN, Ill. -- Wilfred J. Ihnen, 83, of Golden died Friday (Oct. 22, 2010) in his home near Golden.

Wilfred was born Sept. 15, 1927, near LaPrairie to the late John G. and Altje C. (Schuster) Ihnen. He married Elvarie Arena Post on Oct. 13, 1950, in Immanuel Lutheran Church of South Prairie. Elvarie died Jan. 27, 2002

Wilfred was baptized on Sept. 20, 1927, confirmed on March 29, 1942, in Trinity Lutheran Church and his confirmation verse was 2 Corinthians 5:15.

He farmed in the Golden area and worked for Eicken Implement Company in Golden. Wilfred was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Golden, and loved woodworking and gardening.

Surviving are two daughters, Loretta Heinecke and her husband, Robert, of LaPrairie and Beverly Dittmer and her husband, Dennis, of Liberty; five grandchildren, Carl Heinecke and his fiance, Julie Wietholder, of Golden, Sara Metzger and her husband, Brian, of Springfield, Luke Heinecke of LaPrairie, Melissa Dittmer of Mount Sterling and Jenna Dittmer of Liberty; and two sisters, Leona Heinecke of Golden and Esther Aden of Camp Point

He was preceded in death by one brother, Orville Ihnen, and one sister, Mary Ann Aden.

SERVICES: 10 a.m. Tuesday in Trinity Lutheran Church, Golden, with pastor Jim Trutwin conducting. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Golden.

VISITATION: 5 to 7 p.m. Monday in the Hunter Funeral Home, Golden.

MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers to Trinity Lutheran Church or Golden good Shepherd Home.
