Walter E. “Bud” Leach, 65, of Rushville, Illinois, passed away Monday, February 7, 2022, 8:56 AM, at his home with loved ones by his side. He was born on December 8, 1956, in Rushville, the son of Walter Wayne and Virginia Lee Surratt Leach.
Bud is survived by a longtime companion: Melanie Vannattan of Rushville, Illinois; two daughters: Danielle (Ryon Plate) Hunter of Adair, Illinois and Shantelle Hunter of Rushville, Illinois; one brother: Danny Haven Leach of Palatine, Illinois; three sisters: Donna Haney of Macomb, Illinois, Linda (Randy Frakes) Cain of Ripley, Illinois, and Carol Flowers of Rushville, Illinois; seven grandchildren: Therron, Kimora, Aundrey, Rysor, Lexi, Gracie, and Lindsey; and two great grandchildren: Elizabeth and Beckett.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Allan Wayne Leach.
Walter attended Rushville High School. He played in pool leagues in the area and played championships in Las Vegas. He was an avid Green Bay Packers football fan and St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. He loved his mixed terrier, Ollie, who slept by his side and went everywhere with Walter. Mr. Leach worked in the trucking and farming industries, most recently employed by Plate Farms. He loved the time he spent in the tractor and especially loved every moment spent with family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 11, 2022, at 10:00 AM at Triplett Funeral Homes in Rushville, Illinois with interment immediately following in Rushville City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 10, 2022, with the family meeting friends between 5:00 and 7:00 PM at Triplett Funeral Homes of Rushville.
