Virginia Douglas, 61, of Quincy, passed away at 2:44 p.m. on Monday, September 06, 2021, at her home. Born on March 17, 1960, in Quincy, Illinois, she was the daughter of Adolph and Vivian Terwische.
She was first married to Albert Harris for seven years. She is now the wife of Lawrence "Poochie" Douglas, for twenty-six years, and always. He survives.
She attended Gem City College, earned a degree from JWCC in Accounting, and worked for many years at the Quincy Senior Center as a dietician and in service. She retired early to spend time with grandchildren, all of her loved ones, and to enjoy and celebrate life.
In addition to her husband, Lawrence; survivors include daughter: Carrie (Shannon) Owens and son Joseph Douglas both of Quincy, stepson: Jason Douglas; daughter-in-law: Lisa Douglas; three grandchildren: Aarianna, Isis, Trinity Owens and 12 step grandchildren; sister: Barb (Dave) Jensen; brother: Byron (Cindy) Terwische; nephew: Nicholas Terwische.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a stepson: Shane Douglas; and a grandson: Joe Douglas Jr.
She was a good friend, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend to many. She enjoyed camping, attending local sports events, traveling, DIY, crocheting, shopping, dancing, and family. She encourages us all to have our yearly checkups and mammograms.
Cremation rights have been accorded. Private arrangements and a journey will be made in her honor. Memorials may be made to the Blessing Cancer Center. The Hunter Funeral Home in Mendon has been entrusted to care for Virginia and her family.
