Timothy Bayles

March 11, 1949 — July 12, 2017

Timothy Eugene Bayles, 68, of Radcliff, Kentucky, passed away on July 12, 2017, at his home in Radcliff.  He was born on March 11, 1949, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Horace Eugene and Grace Marie (Tomlinson) Bayles.  Tim was raised in Plainfield, Indiana till he joined the United States Army as a 17 yr. old.  He served 3 years in the Army with 19 months in Vietnam.  Tim spent much of his youth visiting the homes of his grandparents DM and Florence Tomlinson and Bert and Ina Bayles and the homes of multiple Rushville aunts and uncles.  Rushville remained his favorite place on Earth.

Like many of the 60’s generation Tim spent years battling alcohol and drugs before he surrendered his life to Jesus Christ in 1979 and became born again and his life completely changed.  Tim eventually located to Camden County, New Jersey, where he met and married his wife, Debbie of 34 years and became employed by DOD in Philadelphia, PA, Defense Logistics Agency June 1981 then moving to Hardin County, Kentucky and working at Ft. Knox 29 years till retirement in 2006.

Tim is survived by his wife Debbie, children, Kari Straczek, North Carolina,  Barry Bayles (Dora), Illinois, and Timothy Bayles II, Kentucky. He has 5 granddaughters, Lily, Syriah, Eris, Ivy and Jerica and one grandson Nikolai.

Also survived by siblings Bruce Bayles (Diana) Terry Bayles (Linda) Betsy Smith (Marcus) Peter Bayles (MaryJo) and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 5, 2017, at the Tomlinson Family Home, 125 East Clinton Street, Rushville, Illinois.   Interment will be at 11:00 AM in the Rushville City Cemetery, with military rites by Schuyler American Legion Post #4.  Memorials are suggested to the Schuyler Veterans Memorial at Rushville City Cemetery.  The Wood Funeral Home in Rushville has been entrusted with assisting the family.
