Clara “Rosalee” Kotter, 88, of Rushville passed away at 10:35 A.M. on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 in the Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

Rosalee was born on July 10, 1930 in Oakland Township in Schuyler County. She was the daughter of the late David Carson and Rhoda Mae (Trone) Abbott. She married Franklin F. Kotter on January 11, 1948 in the First United Methodist Church in Rushville. Franklin passed away on November 4, 2008.

Surviving are; three daughters, Beverly (Denny) Koller of Springfield, Karen (Mike) Stauffer of Rushville, Malea (John) Jessen of Macomb; one son, Kraig (Pam) Kotter of Rushville; ten grandchildren, Sara (Jim) Estes, Kristen (Eric) Streeter, John (Kirsten) Koller, Aaron (Jamie) Koller, Eric (Melissa) Stauffer, Feana (Jason) Nevel, Kayla (Matt) Anderson, Breann (Matt) Weaver, Chelsey (Chris) Toland, Kendall Kotter; five step-grandchildren, Lisa (Mike) Pershing, Megan Carter, Ethan Estes, Nicholas Estes, Maddison Estes; fifteen great-grandchildren, Shyan Koller, Gabrielle Hamby, Devan Hamby, Alexis Koller, Alana Koller, Rosalee Koller, Grant Rexroat, Amelia Stauffer, Emaline Nevel, Easton Weaver, Jaxon Weaver, Garrett Anderson, Olivia Anderson, Kaisen Toland, Paisley Toland; three step-great-grandchildren, Macy Schneider, Evelyn Pershing, Gwen Pershing and several nieces and nephews, whom were all very special to her.

She was preceded in death by; one sister, Edna Mae Lashbrook and four brothers, Robert Dale, Oliver Wendall, William Carson and Paul Orson Abbott.

Rosalee was a lifelong member of the Houston United Methodist Church. She worked alongside her husband in their plumbing and heating business, Kotter’s Service from 1952 until 1998. In her younger years she was a member of the Rural Youth and was on a bowling league. Rosalee was one of the founding members and volunteer for the Schuyler County Ambulance Service. Rosalee and Franklin were always willing to assist and volunteer their time in transporting people to their healthcare appointments. She enjoyed most of all her family, cooking, candy making, card parties, the tradition of the annual apple butter making at the Abbott reunion, quilting and her coffee group at Deb & Di’s.

Services will be 1:30 P.M. on Sunday, March 10, 2019 in the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with Pastor Dan Wise officiating. Interment will be in the Rushville City Cemetery in Rushville. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 9, 2019 in the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions have been suggested to the Houston United Methodist Church, Culbertson Memorial Hospital Foundation or Jensen Woods Camp Foundation.
