GOLDEN, Ill. -- Ronald L. Post, 75, of Golden, died at 7 a.m. Tuesday (July 19, 2011) in Blessing Hospital, Quincy.
He was born Jan. 19, 1936, in Golden to Clarence J. and Leta Reuschel Post. He married Marilyn Flesner on Nov. 22, 1961, in Golden. She survives.
Ronald served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Golden. He loved to read, to do jigsaw puzzles and word searches, and to feed the birds. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In his younger years, he loved to go boating and camping.
In addition to his wife, Marilyn Post of Golden, he is survived by four children, Alicia L. Trueblood of Quincy, Kimberly S. Kendrick and her husband, James, of Algonquin, Edward E. Post and his wife, Tracy, of West Point, and Aaron W. Post and his wife, Melanie, of Moyock, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two brothers, Melvin Post and his wife, Joan, of LaPrairie and Robert Post and his wife, Sherri, of Galena; and two sisters, Norma Flesner and her husband, Delbert, of Golden and Diane Schoonover and her husband, Don, of North Carolina.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Post.
SERVICES: 11 a.m. Saturday in the Hunter Funeral Home, Golden, with Pastor Jim Trutwin conducting. Inurnment will follow in Golden Memorial Gardens.
VISITATION: 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
