Nancee K. O’Hara, 64, of Rushville, passed away at 4:10 AM, Monday, September 6, 2021, at her home.
She was born on July 20, 1957, in Rushville, Illinois, the daughter of Maurice R. “Woody” and Barbara Jean (Keith) Phillips. She married Steve O’Hara on September 16, 1978, in Rushville and he survives.
Also surviving are one daughter Nicole Roegge and husband Aaron of Arenzville, two grandchildren Alissa and Hunter Ballinger, one sister Cindy Shaw and husband Rick and one brother Brian Phillips both of Rushville, her father–in-law Keith O’Hara of Rushville, brother-in-law Bob O’Hara of Lenoir, North Carolina and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her mother-in-law Benetta O’Hara.
Nancee was a 1975 graduate of Rushville High School. She first worked at various restaurants in Rushville. She worked many years in food service for the Rushville-Industry School District, retiring in 2013.
When she was younger, she enjoyed bowling. She also enjoyed crafting, traveling, attending concerts, gardening and shopping. She loved spending time with her friends and family and the highlight of any day was attending her grandchildren’s activities.
Services will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, September 10, 2021, at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville, with David Haney officiating. Interment will follow in the Palm Cemetery, west of Rushville. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Thursday, September 9, 2021, at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville. Memorials are suggested to Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice or Hope Blooms.
