MENDON, Ill. -- Marguerite Verna Caley, 96, of the North Adams Home, Mendon, passed away at 6:34 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015, at the home.

Marguerite was born Sept. 9, 1919, in Mendon, to the late Frank and Odessa (Boyles) Andrew. She married Don Caley on Jan. 28, 1937, in Quincy. Don passed away Dec. 21, 2003.

Marguerite attended Prairie School from first through eighth grade, then graduated from Mendon Township High School in 1937. She was a dental assistant for Dr. Lamb before her retirement. She enjoyed cooking, collecting recipes, bowling and in her younger years she enjoyed fishing.

Surviving are four children, Connie (Fred) Loos of Payson, Maurine (Eldon) Hare of Macomb, Verna (Jim) Taylor of Golden and Don (Lou) Caley of Loraine; 13 grandchildren, Gloria (Tom) Bickhaus, Debbie Loos, Susan (Tim) Shoenekase, Greg (Denise) Loos, Kevin (Terri) Hare, Kirk (Kimberly) Hare, Carmen (Ron) Jackson, Jim (Lisa) Taylor, Shawn (Denise) Taylor, Chad Taylor, McKenzie Wilkey, Kelly (Don) Hendrickson and Kimberly (Daren) Moore; 34 great-grandchildren, Brant Bickhaus, Laurel Jones, Caley Legried, Angelique Niesen, Clint Schaffnit, Timothy Shoenekase, Courtney, Kristen, Brett and Brady Loos, Nick, Morgan, Sydni and Jordyn Hare, Brett Murphy, Kate Curry, Brittany Henry, Brandon Jackson, Ryan, Kelsey, Amber Renee, Jaycie, Nathan, Lexi, Levi and Abby Taylor, Amber Smith, Odessa and Reese Wilkey, Kyle (Emily) Hendrickson, Brooke (Danny) Valentine, and Mason, Dawson and Carson Moore; 11 great-great-grandchildren, Damian Schaffnit, Lexis Hull, Kierra Legried, Ella Hare, Parker Henry, Sawyer Jackson, Lane Taylor, Landon and Emilie Smith, Sadie Lane Shoemaker and Dayton Jo Valentine; and two sister-in-laws, Leola Askew and Geraldine Neill.

She was preceded in death by four sisters, Ruth Aley, June Stansberry, Shirley Mulhauser and Norma Stansberry.

SERVICES: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, at the Hunter Funeral Home, Mendon, with the Rev. Connie Jenkins conducting. Entombment will be in the Mendon Cemetery Mausoleum.

VISITATION: 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
