CAMP POINT, Ill. -- Irvin E. Haschemeyer, 91, of Camp Point, died Saturday (Feb. 22, 2014) in his home in Camp Point.

Irvin was born on Dec. 18, 1922, near Golden to the late Tobe and Grace Leenerts Haschemeyer. He married Minnie Kindhart on April 27, 1952, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Golden. She survives of Camp Point.

Irvin served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II with the 795th Military Police, War Crimes, stationed in the Philippines.

He was a farmer in the Golden and Clayton area for many years. After farming, he worked for Adams FS and then, later, for Adams Rural Electric Cooperative.

Irvin was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Golden and enjoyed working on small gas engines. He was a White Sox and Bears fan.

Surviving are five children, Sandra Haschemeyer of Jacksonville, Diane M. Haschemeyer of Quincy, Bonnie Haschemeyer of Jacksonville, Randy Haschemeyer of Camp Point, and Michael Haschemeyer of Camp Point; one brother, Virgil (Donna) Haschemeyer of Camp Point; and and sisters-in-law, Alberta Haschemeyer of Camp Point and Florine Haschemeyer of Golden.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Wilbur, Elvin and Lester Haschemeyer and one sister, Carlene Juilfs.

SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Golden, with Pastor David Armstrong-Reiner conducting. Interment will be in Golden Memorial Gardens in Golden.

VISITATION: 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Hunter Funeral Home in Golden.

MEMORIALS: Blessing Foundation for Hospice or Trinity Lutheran Church in Golden.

ARRANGEMENTS: Hunter Funeral Home, Golden.
