LORAINE, Ill. -- Harry Junior Bottorff, 88, of Loraine, passed away Friday (Oct. 4, 2013) in North Adams Home, Mendon.

Harry was born July 21, 1925, in Loraine, a son of the late Harry O. and Mary M. (Reece) Bottorff. He married Shirley Jean Wilson on Dec. 22, 1956, in the home of Reverend Mock in Quincy. She died Oct. 31, 1969.

Harry went to Washington Grade School near Loraine and graduated from Loraine High School in 1942, then graduated from Mendon Township High School in 1943. He owned his own truck and did general hauling for various people in the area. He was an umpire for the youth softball league in the 1950s and was an avid Dodgers baseball fan.

He donated many gallons of blood to the American Red Cross over the years. He loved family gatherings and, in his later years, enjoyed going to Hardee's in Quincy every Friday for biscuits and gravy.

Survivors include two children, Tom Bottorff of Loraine and Mary Ann (Lyle) Bentzinger of Mendon; three grandchildren, Blair (fiancA�AC. Matthew Garmer), Lauren Bentzinger and Reed Bentzinger, all of Mendon; a sister, Marilyn Bottorff Mittermyer, of Mendon; a sister-in-law, Connie Bottorff, of Quincy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Harry was preceded in death by a son, David Bottorff; a brother, Ralph C. Bottorff; two brothers-in-law, Robert H. Mittermyer and Ernie Wilson; and two sisters-in-law, Verna Mae Stambaugh and Wilma Kessler.

SERVICES: 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Hunter Funeral Home, Mendon. Interment will be in Curless Cemetery, near Loraine.

VISITATION: 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.

MEMORIALS: United Methodist Church of Loraine or North Adams Home in Mendon.
