Garret Collins

Garret Alan Collins, (15), of Rushville, passed away at 2:20 pm on November 25, 2022, peacefully at home with his loving family by his side.

Garret was born on December 1, 2006 in Jacksonville, Illinois.  He is the beloved son of Matthew and Valerie (Campbell) Collins, and much-loved brother to his sister, Mackenzie.

Garret was a sophomore at Rushville-Industry High School. A member of the FFA, he was a very respectful, and kind young man whose loving personality and smile with dimples, made a deep and lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Garret enjoyed gaming on his PS4, farming, especially running the grain cart, his 1978 Ford truck, and going mudding in the side-by-sides. He loved fishing and enjoyed building his Technic Lego sets and playing with his RC toys, which he has quite a collection of.  Garret had a love for music of all kinds and will be remembered always for his optimism and strength, and how much he just liked being home with his family. He will never be forgotten, and he will be loved forever.

Garret is survived by his parents; his sister; Grandparents Kenneth and Susan Collins of Rushville; Great-Grandmother Myrtle Crenshaw of Rushville; Uncles, Troy (Tessa) Campbell of Chandlerville, Illinois, and Jamie (Jackie) Collins of Hampton, Tennessee; and his cousins, Brodie and Victoria.

Garret was preceded in death by his grandmother, Betty Campbell.

There will be a visitation for Garret on Friday, December 2, 2022, from 3:00pm – 7:00pm at Triplett & Wood Funeral Home in Rushville.

Funeral Services will take place at 11:00am, on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Triplett & Wood Funeral Home with interment to follow at Persinger Cemetery. Pastor Jason Triplett will officiate.
