Evelyn M. Aden, 87, of Golden passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 in Barnes Hospital in St. Louis.

Evelyn was born on November 19, 1929 in Clayton Township to the late Herman and Emilie Flesner. She married Elmer Henry Aden on March 3, 1949 in the Immanuel Lutheran Church of South Prairie. Elmer passed away on September 4, 1995.

Evelyn was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Golden. She taught Sunday School for 46 years. She was a member of the Luther League, Thrivent and WELCA, where she held many offices. She was also the Mission Treasurer for 20 years and a member of the Quilting Circle and made many blankets for Lutheran World Relief.

Surviving are; One son, Alan Aden of Camp Point, one daughter, Alicia (Brian) Brown of Hannibal, three grandchildren, Paige Marshall of Eureka, Mo., Peyton Marshall of Quincy, Benjamin Brown of Hannibal, six brothers, Kenneth (Edna) Flesner of Golden, Delbert (Norma) Flesner of Golden, Roger (Diana) Flesner of Golden, Dean (Ann) Flesner of Golden, Merlin (Betty) Flesner of Golden, Larry (Sally) Flesner of Cartersville, two sisters, Imogene Leenerts of Golden, Maxine Ideus of Tucson, AZ and one sister-in-law, Marilyn Flesner of Golden.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Virgil Flesner, two brother–in-laws, Arnold Leenerts, Herbert Ideus and two sister-in-laws, Beth Flesner and Lois Flesner.

Services will be 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 3, 2016 in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Golden with Reverend Brad Eidson officiating. Interment will be in Golden Memorial Gardens in Golden.  Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services on Saturday in the church. Memorial contributions have been suggested to the Trinity Lutheran Church or the donors’ choice. You are invited to share memories of Evelyn and leave condolences at
