Connie Newenham

Connie Jean Newenham, 63, of Rushville, passed away at 9:28 pm on Friday, December 15, 2023, at Beardstown Health and Rehabilitation Centre in Beardstown.

She was born on December 9, 1960, the daughter of the late Gerald & Violet (Ballenger) Lewis. Connie graduated from Rushville High School with the class of 1980.  She married Mike Newenham on September 11, 1982, in Versailles, and he survives.  

Connie worked for many years for Pizza Unlimited in Rushville. She worked in various capacities while there. Connie loved the outdoors and enjoyed sitting outside watching the world go by. She loved her “granddogs” and cats. Connie enjoyed watching St. Louis Cardinal’s baseball, going fishing with her family, staying in touch with friends and family on Facebook and collecting snowmen. Connie’s enjoyed celebrating holidays and her favorite holiday of all was Easter. 

In addition to her husband of 40 years, Mike, Connie is survived by two daughters; Katherine (Mike) Hendricks of Rushville & Samantha (Johnathan) Newenham of Rushville, a brother; Robert Lewis of Ripley and by several nieces & nephews. Besides her parents, Connie was preceded in death by a dear aunt; Eva Lewis.

In accordance with Connie’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date. The Triplett & Wood Funeral Home of Rushville has been entrusted with the care and arrangements. Memorial contributions in memory of Connie are suggested to the Huntington Disease Society of America.
