Carolyn L. Goodrich, 73, of Rushville, passed away at 6:00 AM, Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at her home.

She was born on February 18, 1943, at the Wesley Hospital in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of A. Lee and Lois C. (Sias) Spencer.  She grew up in the Kansas vicinity and then moved to Kerrville, Texas, when she was 18.  She married Joseph L. Goodrich on July 8, 1968, in Long Beach, California, and he survives.

Also surviving are five children, Jerry Lee Goodrich and wife Vicki of Kansas City, Missouri, Janna Ann Williams and husband Cliff of Wichita, Kansas, Craig Scott Goodrich and wife Jody of Havana, Andrew Joel Goodrich and wife Kimberly of Rushville and Robert Delano Goodrich and wife Amy of Green Bay, Wisconsin, 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, one brother Robert Eugene Spencer and wife Sarah of Chanute, Kansas, one sister Clarice L. Reinhardt of Chanute, Kansas and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother William Richard Spencer.

Carolyn worked at the Kerrville State Hospital in Kerrville, Texas, as an executive housekeeper at Liberty Hospital in Liberty, Missouri, Mason District Hospital in Havana, and Schmidt Memorial Hospital in Beardstown.  She was the Coordinator at the H.E.L.P. Center in Rushville for 7 years.  Later, she was a caseworker and receptionist for the RSVP Program in Rushville.  She was a volunteer with St. Alexius Catholic Church in Beardstown and also Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice.  She represented the Navy Fleet Wives of America in Washington, DC.

She enjoyed flying, reading, boating, swimming and traveling.

Services will be at 4:00 PM, Saturday, November 26, 2016, at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville, with Reverend Fred Fritz officiating.  Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 4:00PM, Saturday, November 26, 2016, at the Wood Funeral Home.  Private interment will be in the Hughes Cemetery, near Rushville.  Memorials are suggested to the Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice.
